Forest City Tennis Club
For decades, Forest City Tennis Club has fostered African American tennis in Cleveland through lessons, clinics, tournaments, and scholarships. Linking players from Cleveland to cities like Chicago and Detroit, the club honors its rich legacy while inspiring the next generation.
North High School
At North High School in Akron, Peyton Young leads a program that proves tennis can flourish in even the most underfunded urban settings. More than 40 students now have access to shoes, racquets, and coaching—giving them the chance to represent their school in Ohio High School tennis and USTA team events. These opportunities empower student-athletes to experience the world’s healthiest sport, while also building confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging. North High School’s program demonstrates the power of tennis to inspire growth and opportunity both on and off the court.
